 It was a bright Saturday morning….I woke up around 6am after a long day at work the previous day, as usual, I brushed, picked up my booth and jersey, called Sesan from the other flat……….”Guy, its time for field”………………. We walked down to a secondary school pitch close to our house (That’s where guys play soccer every weekend)……..There were not too much people for set that day so we ended a bit early like around after 10. I went home straight with sesan and two other guys from the field but instead of the guys to go to their house straight, they decided to chill a bit at my place. We were so tired. Four of us decided to sit outside my house and started gisting about different things, from politics to girls and football but football takes the other of the day…Our discussion was not without some chilled spirit and sprite mixture couple with some fried meat which my girlfriend prepared for me for the weekend. Suddenly, the someone opened our main gate, for my mind “oooohhhh, this people have come again”…..Sesan quickly said “Guy, abeg I dey go shower abeg”…………All the other guys started grumbling too…..i had no option than to wait as they started approaching us and I couldn’t stand up again as it will be so embarrassing to them………..”Awon oloshe wo leleyi gan”…………It was two guys and a lady that walked into my compound….the two guys carried hand bag which comes from their shoulder down the side of their thigh…..One of them was on suit fully kitted while the other put on just pant trouser, shirt and tie to match it up. The lady put on a blue shirt and black skirt with a black big bag..no make up or anything. Ordinarily, this was not the first time am seeing them coming to preach for me but I was not just in the mood that day at all……… they approached us and it was all joke here and there…they preach a bit and we sometimes change it to politics with them and talk about life generally…..Jokes do come in at interval and the lady seems to be a bit friendly likewise the guys too……what we thought will be a boring moment was actually all fun except from the fact that we were drinking and offered them part of it which they declined. They even preached to us to stop drinking as it was not a good idea and is a sin to God…”Oga, leave that even Jesus turned water to wine”……………… Before we knew it, it was almost like an hour we have been discussing, they gave us one of their pamphlet to read through and digest as they make their way out of the compound..It was during this moment one of the guy said Guy 1: “Guy, una no see dat babe bottom…see as e dey roll they go, this is bad mehn” Guy 2: Una think say I dey listen to the preaching before? Na her endowed bweast I just dey look since oooo….the babe carry no be small Me:Na God go save una…..this one na JW ooooo…..dem no dey do that kind thing oooo Guy 1: Forget that one abeg, na dem dey do am pass Guy 2: Tolu na confirm SU oooooo………………and u no hw many times I don collect pass for her body Me: which Tolu b that? Guy 2 : The same one wey you know now….wey dey stay Anthony street.. Guy 1: Na lieu Me:Guy, $get that one, no be the same tolu wey I know…..the babe dey too saint jare and no be like you she fit fall for Guy 2: Una dey doubt me? Me: Yes now…………..who go believe you….. He brought out his phone, scroll to the picture gallery..what we saw was alarming…different pics of tolu lying down on his bed, the one they snapped together and all sort of romantic bed mood pictures..we were totally convinced that he has actually done something with Tolu and it was a great surprise to us. OPPO 60X welcomes X2 Pro8

OPPO said to launch Find X2 Pro next month with an upgraded 60x Periscope Zoom setup

OPPO was all set to launch its next-generation Find-series flagship smartphone OPPO Find X2 at a launch event during Mobile World Congress later this month. However, since the event is now cancelled, the launch will now take place next month.

With launch date nearing, more details about the Find X2 keeps surfacing online. In the latest development, it is reported that the company will also launch Find X2 Pro along with the standard OPPO Find X2.

If this turns out to be true, then it’ll be a departure from the company’s usual strategy of launching just a single device under the Find series.

As per the report, the OPPO Find X2 Pro will come with the upgraded periscope super telephoto lens and will support 60x digital zoom with the performance claimed to be better than Reno 10X Zoom Edition.

Leaks and reports have revealed that the Find X2 could come with a 6.5-inch display with a punch-hole that features a Sony IMX616 32-megapixel selfie snapper. The display is expected to support quad HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate along with a touch sampling rate of 240Hz.

Other features that will be offered by the phone’s screen include 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut support, HDR up to 1200nits brightness and SDR to HDR conversion. Under the hood, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 mobile platform will be powering the device. The phone may come with a charger that supports 65W fast charging capabilities.  The device will be equipped with other features like LPDDR5 RAM, USB 3.0 storage and Wi-Fi 6.

Rumors indicate that the phone will come with a periscope telephoto lens of 13-megapixel. Its main Sony IMX689 48-megapixel lens is a custom sensor co-developed by Sony and OPPO. Also, the new Sony IMX708 super-wide lens with widest photography capabilities is expected to make its debut on the Find X2.

As mentioned, the scheduled launch event for the OPPO Find X2 in Barcelona on 22nd February has been canceled. The company has said that it will share more information about the phone’s launch in March 2020 in the coming days or weeks.

Nigeria looking to repatriate about 600

Over 600 Nigerians will be voluntarily returning home according from South Africa according to head of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri.

The first news of repatriation was from a local airline, Air Peace which made the offer last week. Its plans were impacted by lack of documentation of beneficiaries. The embassy stepped in to provide necessary papers.

The first batch are expected to leave on two flights on Wednesday, Nigeria’s Consul General in Johannesburg, Godwin Adama, told the BBC.

Only those who were under distress as a result of the attacks would leave the country, he added. The government via president Buhari also issued a statement for voluntary repatriation of all Nigerians living in South Africa.

Ms Dabiri has also called for the South African government to pay compensation to victims of the xenophobic violence that has so far claimed a dozen lives. Lawmakers in Nigeria’s lower chamber have also said they will push for compensation.

September 8, 2019: Fresh violence erupts in Johannesburg

At least two people have died and dozens arrested following fresh xenophobic attacks in South Africa’s Johannesburg city on Sunday.

Local Eyewitness News reported that a group of men had raided the city’s central business district on Sunday morning, demanding that foreigners leave the area.

The city’s police chief David Tembe confirmed that two people had died from gun shot wounds and stabbing, adding that cars, buildings and businesses had been vandalised.

“I think this is pure criminality because some of the shops that were burned did not belong to the foreigners, it belonged to South Africans,’‘ Tembe said.

September 7, 2019: Nigeria debunks explosion at SA embassy in Abuja

The Nigerian government on Saturday dispelled reports that there had been an explosion at the Abuja premises of the South African embassy.

Information Minister Lai Mohammed told the media that the reports that had been making the rounds were untrue and that no such incident had taken place.

A statement by his media aide said the “explosion” was fake news orchestrated by the desperate opposition to cause panic and chaos among the populace.

The Police also called the report a classic fake news. “Meanwhile, the Nigeria Police Force has provided adequate security in and around all South African Missions and related business interests,” their statement read in part.

South African businesses were targeted earlier this week in reprisal attacks by some Nigerians after a surge in xenophobic violence saw other Africans attacked in Johannesburg and other areas.

The South African embassy closed its doors in the wake of the security threats that officials were receiving. Some businesses like MTN and Shoprite closed their shops for fear of attacks.

The Nigerian government also issued a travel advisory for South Africa, pulled out of the World Economic Forum on Africa – which took place in Caper Town and recalled its envoy.

A private airline, Air Peace, has since offered to evacuate citizens who are willing to voluntarily return but the move has been hampered as a result of the lack of proper documentation of some of the applicants.

NYSC bars 8 foreign-trained graduates over inability to defend degrees

The National Youth Service Corps Coordinator in Kano State, Ladan Baba, says no fewer than eight foreign-trained graduates were refused registration due to incomplete and inconsistent documents.

Baba revealed this on Monday during the passing out parade of the 2019 Batch ‘B’ Corps members after three-week orientation course at the NYSC permanent camp in Kusalla, Karaye Local Government Area of the state.

According to him, some of the graduates were also blocked online from registration as a result of failure to defend their degrees as foreign students after physical verification of their results.

“As a matter of fact, some of them cannot express themselves verbally.

“More worrisome is the fact that some of them did not undergo any academic pursuits, but obtained certificates through illegal means with allegations that some did so in Kano and environs.

“This will undoubtedly require urgent action by the government and good people of Kano in collaboration with the dogged security agencies in the state to checkmate this ugly trend that will affect us negatively,” Baba said.

He said that out of the 1,700 corps members posted to the state for their service year, 1,592 were registered and went through various skill acquisition training.

The coordinator called on the corps members to contribute immensely towards the development of the state and country.

Buba said contribution could be on the state initiative on girl-child education, adult and mass literacy campaign, sustainable development goals, and campaign against drug abuse.

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, represented by his deputy, Dr. Nasir Gawuna, called on the corps members to understand the culture of their host communities and other aspects of their lives.

Ganduje urged them to identify viable projects that was of benefit to their host communities and mobilise them to realise the lofty ideals of the programme for their benefits.

“Kano State Government through its agencies is working fast for a new vista of opportunities in a quest to fulfill its campaign promises in the next level for sustainable development.

“The ongoing reforms in youth policies in the state are targeted mainly on growth and development meant to uplift the standard of living of our citizens and provide enabling environment and job opportunities,” he said.

Ganduje urged the corps members to imbibe the values of leadership, courage and resourcefulness throughout their service year.
