Deputy Governor of Imo State

Prince Eze Madumere wrote:  There is this unfortunate trend I've noticed with some of our people and painfully so from some of our youths. A few days ago I read a comment by a young man making some rather legally actionable comments against my person. I tried to reach him through the Facebook messenger to warn him on the consequences of such actions only to find some previous messages he had sent to me where he praised and made promises of support to me after which he had asked for assistance. Unfortunately due to the high volume of messages I get everyday and the volume of work I am faced with everyday at the office, I cannot be able to read each and every message sent to me and probably missed his appeal. But even if I had seen it, I alone cannot cater for the individual problems of everybody no matter how it burdens my heart to help and which I do as best as I can afford to but it isn't a good reason to resort to name-calling and blackmail simply because somebody couldn't help you. I know I am not alone in this as some people have complained of such to me and it is very unfortunate. Such a young man does not have to wait for a government official or a rich man to give him handouts when he could create it for himself. There are many young millionaires and billionaires today who got where they are without help from anybody and didn't have to slander or blackmail people who didn't help them. Let us do things as we want others to do to us. If Eze Madumere decides to press legal charges over the matter somebody will tag me as wicked without bothering to condemn such actions which you will not like somebody to do to you. These are some of the things I see online that disheartens me whenever I think about the future we are building. My pledge to my people is to serve as best as I am able to according to the confines of the law that instituted the position I occupy. As a person I have been helping out our people and will continue to help as best as I can afford to. I know several of our youths who are employed today through me or who I’ve helped start up one venture or the other to help themselves without having to broadcast to the world. I cannot help everybody, nobody can and that I couldn’t help you shouldn’t be a reason to attack me unnecessarily. Thank you and may God bless you.
