“Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.” - James 5:10, 11.

Comment:
Another instance of how the devil could afflict people with burdens that are so heavy to bear is that of Job. His case gives a fine example of how believers should comport themselves when confronted by difficulties. In Job's case he lost all his property – sheep, camels, oxen, asses and his ten children, seven sons and three daughters in one day. In addition, the devil inflicted on him a terrible sickness. (Job chapters 1 and 2) But Job's faith in the justice of God, saw him through by His grace. In the heat of his temptation Job declared, “I would seek unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause: Which doeth great things and unsearchable; marvellous things without number..” (Job 5:8, 9) Job the prophet was later vindicated in that God healed him of his ailment and restored two fold all the livestock he lost. He also gave him other children, boys and girls.
