IMO NUJ BOSS, PUBLISHER, LAWMAKERS, DONS, OTHERS BAG U.I.Y.M MERIT AWARD

Following the completion of her one week state-wide youth training on Solar Installation and Maintenance, United Imo Youth Movement  (UIYM) has awarded deserving Nigerians with merit award of honour as part of her efforts to encourage them in the services of the society and humanity.

The event which held at the NUJ Press Center Hall, Ph Road to mark the grand finale of the one week intensive training attracted the presence of who is who in Imo State who had earlier came to cheer up and commend the resolve of UIYM members to invest in youth capacity development.

Among those bestowed with merit award of honour were, Honourable members representing Oru East, Hon. Nkenna Nzeruo as  (Most Effective Philathropist Lawmaker), Ihitte Uboma, Hon. Dr. Mrs. Uche Ejiogu as (Most effective Female Lawmaker in Youth Development), Chief Sir Innocent Igwe as (Most Resourceful NUJ Chairman in Nigeria) etc.

Others include, publisher of Nigerian Newspoint Newspaper, Apostle Lamber Ojukwu as Best Newspaper Publisher in Imo State), Prof Protus Uzoma as Mayor of Imo Youths, Nze Luke Ekwueme as most Active Party Chairman in Imo State, Chief Osita Opara(The Commander of sustainable development), Chief Okey Oguala(Mentor), Barr. V.C Onyeagorom(As the most legal reformer in Imo state), Barr. C. I Onwukwe(Youth developer of the year), Chief (Mrs) J. Udorji(As the mother of Imo Youths), Chief Jerry Opara(As the most influencial man of the year), Dr. Luke C. Nwosu, and Comr. Ikenna Onuoha as Ambassadors of United Imo Youth Movement respectively amongst others.

Delivering his speech, Mayor of UIYM, Comr. Chinonso Nkemgaemedi Nwaiwu maintained that his group decided to give the Youths the needed skills reguired of them to succeed in life, and expressed optimism  that with the training, no youth who participated would have any excuse not to perform.

According to Comr. Chinonso Nkemgaemedi Nwaiwu, gone were the days when youths functioned as political thugs, ballot box snatchers and executive assassins which through their behaviours, the Youths were seen as not capable enough to hold positions, and called on other youth bodies to embark on positive programmes for their members instead of making themselves political tools.

He further thanked the company Trainer, Centy & Centy Resources Ltd who partnered with them for given their youths the needed prerequisites for optimal performance, while applauding those who directly or indirectly contributed for the success of the programme.

In their separate speeches, NUJ Chairman, Sir Innocent Igwe, Hon. Nkenna Nzeruo (IMHA), Guest Lecturer, Dr. Luke Nwosu among others commended the vision of UIYM for creating good atmosphere for youths where skills hidden in them could be harnest for social development, and charged other youth groups to emulate them.

Meanwhile, it could be recalled that UIYM in partnership with Centy & Centy Resources Ltd had on Monday, November 13th, 2017 began a one week state wide youth training on Solar Installation and Maintenance, which produced various youths as certified solar installers and mainteners.
